Set up an Announcements category?

This Discourse site will replace the igraph-help mailing list. We should investigate creating an Announcements category to also replace igraph-announce.

Hopefully, this can be set up so that registered users get an email by default for each new post, but they can also easily opt-out.

Here’s a possible model:

I believe on that forum only staff can post an announcement, but everyone else can respond.

Yes, I think that may be a good idea. Perhaps we only create the category once we have something to announce?

@tamas The category is ready, you can go ahead with the announcement when you want to. Note that everyone who registered will be immediately notified!
