Hi everyone,
I took the liberty of contacting Martin Rosvall about a possible non-AGPL release which would allow incorporation of improved code into igraph. He responded that

[they] are also interested in a better igraph implementation and will discuss ways forward.

I assume the igraph maintainers will be contacted once Martin and his team came to a decision.

That’s great news, thanks! Indeed, we are using a very old Infomap implementation due to licensing issues, so we are very interested in any possibilities to solve this (hopefully without too much legal fuss).
